We don’t realize how we talk to ourselves. We walk around saying “I’m going to make it” and then in our minds saying “I’m really sick”. How do you get rid of the madman inside your head? It’s important to know because the madman will do you in. So, how do you get rid of them? You stop believing in them. You accomplish this through meditation. Remember, thinking is involuntary; you can’t decide what to think. Can you imagine if you got to decide what to think you would spend all day today on what to think tomorrow? Thinking is an involuntary spontaneous act. Our thoughts are given to us. Are you beating your heart, are you breathing your lungs, are you secreting your glands? The answer is no, you’re not doing anything. Remember we are human beings, not human doings. The whole idea is to still the mind. That’s why we like to talk to people because with our mouths shut we would all go insane, we hate it. For example, what’s the worst thing you could do to a prisoner?
