integrative oncology definition providing all the key elementsI’m Going To Provide My Integrative Oncology Definition To Put Things Into Proper Perspective.

Oncology means the field of medicine devoted to cancer, people with cancer, and the treatment of tumors. The word integrative means serving or intending to unify separate things, different things. In terms of medicine, it also means combining Allopathic and complementary therapies. In short, “integrating” means bringing things together. So, in turn, the integrative oncology definition simply states that it is bringing together all of the different modalities for healing that are available to us. And, there are many healing modalities.

There are traditional healing modalities such as Ayurvedic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, botanical medicine of Europe and the United States, Native American medicine, and homeopathic medicine. So, as you can see, there are a lot of different, effective healing modalities and then there are more modern ones like chiropractic, osteopathy, and then, of course, allopathy, which is the M.D.

Every one of those has its place in healing human beings. So the art of this, the refinement of this process, is to find the best of each of these healing modalities and bring them together into an integrative approach, and that’s basically integrative oncology defined.

We use herbs, we use acupuncture. We use cleansing, different kinds of cleansing, different types of energy work. And we use IVs, interventional IVs of high doses of vitamin C, and various other plant-derived substances in addition to working on the mind and body connection.

The Mind, Body, And Spirit Are Really All Just One Thing

We separate them just so we could talk about them. Let me give you an example, you get into a car accident, and what happens? Your body is hurt, right? Of course, it is, and is there anything else that happens? Is it possible you were emotionally affected? Absolutely and were you also psychologically affected, spiritually affected? Yes, to all of them, they all happened. You can’t separate them. They’re not separable.

And, that’s how life works. Life happens on all these levels in an instant so we have to learn to deal with it. We have to learn to clear our minds. A good example is you do a colonic or enema to clean out your bowels, well, you also need to do a mind enema.

You need to clear out fear and clear out the madness. When talking about integrative oncology, we’re talking about dealing with the whole person and not just a finger or some other particular aspect of the body.  If we were, we would be missing the entire integrative piece. That would be the old proverbial blind person holding onto the tail of an elephant and trying to explain what an elephant looks like, and then another person holding onto its front legs, and another person holding the trunk, and another person grabbing its ears. That’s crazy.

In that example, those are aspects of a whole and they’re not going to provide you with an idea of what the whole looks like. That is the beauty of what integrative oncology is, it brings it all together. And if you haven’t brought it all together, if you are just using one or two or three of the mentioned modalities, then it doesn’t really qualify as integrative oncology.
