How Does The Body Heal Itself https://drthomaslodi.com How does the body heal itself, the simple answer is because that’s its job. If you want to visit the moon, you have to wear a moon suit. If you want to live on this planet, you need the suit we live in everyday, our earthsuit. Our earthsuit never came with instructions and we don’t know how to take care of it. Fortunately, if we cut ourselves, it repairs it and we don’t have to worry about it. Ths is a real simple reminder of our roots and origins, let thy food be thy medicine and let thy medicine thy food. This incredible earthsuit of our has 100 trillion cells. The reason a cell can exist if because it is separated from other cells and the environment by a membrane. There’s a plasma membrane which separates it from the outside world and inside the cell, there are little organelles. Just like our body has organs, our cells have organelles. They all have membranes and the nucleus has a membrane. The mitochondria and the nucleus have double membranes. Keep in mind, membranes are fats and lipids. So, however says you need to be on a low-fat diet never studied biology. We are making 2 million new cells per second and they need 50% of outside of that membrane to be from fat. We, as humans, are hard wired to regenerate, rejuvenate and procreate. We get cut and we heal. You pick an apple from a tree and next year there are two to three apples. Our cells don’t spend a lot of time repairing themselves because of a process called apoptosis. This process gobbles up damages non-working cells, recycles the material and makes new cells. Tissues are repairing, cells are replacing. The greats news is, whatever condition we are in today, can be changed tomorrow. So, how does the body heal itself, naturally would be my answer.    • Health and Disease      / @drthomaslodi
